Privacy Policy
Effective 28 August 2026
This policy explains how Decibic handles information when you visit decibic.com or use a browser-based device test. The public site does not require an account, and Decibic does not sell personal information.
Browser and device permissions
Some future tests may ask for access to a camera, microphone, USB or Bluetooth device, game controller, location, motion sensor, or another browser capability. Permission prompts and permission settings are controlled by your browser and operating system. You can decline a prompt or revoke access later.
Choose only the test you intend to run and grant only the access it needs. Closing a test does not necessarily reset a permission already saved by your browser.
Information handled by tests
Each published tool will describe the inputs it uses and how results are produced. Some processing may happen within your browser, while other functions may require a Decibic service or another disclosed provider. Decibic does not claim that every future test processes all information locally.
Until tools are published, the site does not collect device-test inputs or results. Do not submit confidential, regulated, or third-party information unless the tool's own notice says it is appropriate to do so.
Web requests and security logs
Hosting systems may process an IP address, requested path, date and time, browser user agent, referring page, and response status. This information is used to deliver the site, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, and protect the service. Operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.
Analytics
Public pages use Matomo analytics through Pase Analytics under site ID 60. The tracker records page views and link interactions and may process a page URL and title, referring page, browser and device information, IP address, and analytics identifiers. The default Matomo tracker may set first-party analytics cookies in your browser. This information helps Decibic understand site usage and improve its public tools. Protected review previews and administrator pages do not load the tracker.
Service providers and disclosure
Information may be handled by infrastructure providers that help host and secure Decibic. A future tool may name an additional provider when that provider is necessary for the test. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganization.
Your choices and rights
You can decline device permissions, change saved permissions, block or delete analytics cookies using your browser controls, and choose not to run a test. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority.
Security, children, and changes
Decibic uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no browser service can guarantee absolute security. The service is intended for a general technical audience and is not directed to children. This policy may change as tools and providers change; the effective date identifies the current version.
